A half day course which covers the following:
Aims:
- To be able to understand the principles behind the importance of delivering a high quality end of life care
- To break the taboo of death and understand what it means to us
- To make us think about death differently
Learning Outcomes:
- To explain what is meant by palliative or end of life care
- To understand what is meant by ‘A good death’ vs. ‘A bad death’
- To explain why palliative care is needed
- To identify the barriers that sometimes exist to the provision of quality end of life care
- To identify the different models of palliative care and to provide links to additional resources
The lesson is interactive and will cover ComRes research. WHO Palliative care statistics and the provision of end of life care.
Pain management and symptoms and the use of the MUST tool.
This course is essential for people who deal or involved with any form of Palliative Care.
